Our Vision

The Ice Shack is the realization of a lifelong dream by Austin Christopher, owner and head coach of The Mental Goalie. As a college athlete and professional goalie trainer, Austin has over a decade of experience working with players of all levels—from beginners to college athletes.

The Ice Shack is Coach Austin’s next step in growing the hockey community in his home state of Maine. More than a training facility, it’s a space where: Goalies can refine their craft in a focused, intimate environment. Coaches and trainers can access unique ice time for specialized instruction. Hockey players of all ages can improve their skills and reach their potential. Our mission is to develop the next generation of hockey players and foster a stronger, more connected hockey community in Maine.
